USAID Vacancies Needed ASAP
New officers with a wide variety of skills, interests, and experience are being actively sought by USAID. At the moment, USAID gives employment priority in five important program areas (backstops):
LEGAL OFFICERS advise mission staff regarding host country and mission laws, regulations, authorities, practices, and privileges that may affect agreements, transactions, and operations of USAID as well as the conduct of its employees personally.
POPULATION/HEALTH/NUTRITION (PHN) OFFICERS are in charge of creating, supervising, managing (staff, financial, and technical resources), and evaluating PHN programs in any or all of the following areas: nutrition, social marketing and behavior change, operations/programmatic research, biomedical/clinical, child survival, maternal health, HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections, infectious diseases, and
EXECUTIVE OFFICERS are essential to the operation of our abroad Missions and act as the country Director’s principal administrative advisors. Executive Officers oversee general service operations, human resource management, facility management, information technology and security, occupational safety and health programs, and construction management.
One of the most important business advisors in USAID’s abroad missions are CONTRACTING OFFICERS. Negotiation, award, and management of both acquisition and assistance are among the duties. While ensuring adherence to the terms and conditions of the award, contracting officers assist technical staff in implementation and monitoring of sound development programs.
As a member of the USAID Mission Controller’s team, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OFFICERS perform a wide range of financial studies on Agency programs and local implementing partners, including host country financial systems. They also provide accounting and budgeting for Mission operations. All parts of the Mission receive guidance and support from Financial Management Officers regarding the financial policies and practices that apply to the execution of programs.
