For programmes promoting women’s involvement in local, regional, and national peace processes, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is accepting applications.

According to the UK’s Fifth National Action Plan (NAP), the initiative is trying to raise money for work in the WPS priority countries.

Objectives for Grants To Promote Women’s Involvement In Regional Local And National Peace Processes

  • Additionally, initiatives should demonstrate how they: Support and promote women’s rights organisations, women peacebuilders, and human rights activists (at any level).
  • Encourage chances for women to actively participate in conversations on security, defence, and peace processes.
  • Sectors Climate change, education, empowerment and accountability, girls and women, humanitarian emergencies and disasters, peace and access to justice, and research.

Information on Funding and Duration

  • The grant agreement’s overall budget is limited at £850.000. In FY 2023–2024, a maximum of £500,000 is available, while in FY 2024–2025, a maximum of £350,000 is. Please make sure that bids don’t go over these upper limits.
  • The project, which will cover the financial years 2023–2024–2025, is anticipated to start as soon as feasible and last until March 31, 2025.
  • Only suppliers that are certain they can handle this amount of funds and complete the proposed work by the deadlines should submit bids for this funding.

Participating Organisations

  • Organisations based in Low to Middle Income Countries (LMIC), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), UK-based Small and Diaspora Organisations, Educational Institutions, and Humanitarian Relief Organisations.
  • Organisations that meet the following organisational characteristics are invited to submit proposals:
  • Working on WPS/NAP in UK NAP priority areas for more than ten years.
  • long-standing national offices and broad networks that include regional bodies.
  • leadership and core employees with experience.
  • extensive experience working with grassroots peacemakers, mediators, and advocates for women’s rights, etc.
  • Possibility of utilising the requested money and delivering them with programmed activities within the necessary time frame.
  • preference for organisations led by women.
