The African Union’s (AU) long-term development goal, Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, which aims to make the continent a worldwide powerhouse, includes the AfCFTA as one of its signature initiatives.

The AfCFTA would want to provide students with the chance to serve as interns (for a set amount of time) in order to obtain some real-world experience and exposure to other cultures.

The internship programme is created to attract highly skilled and driven students from a variety of backgrounds into the Secretariat to work on initiatives related to the Secretariat’s Strategic Orientations and support its internal corporate operations. Its main objective is to provide qualified applicants with the chance to develop their technical and analytical abilities in a global setting.
The program’s main goal is to educate participants (interns) about the AfCFTA’s operations early on and to develop their early professional and personal skills. It will provide participants a chance to learn about and get some firsthand experience in a variety of relevant subjects while doing so in a multicultural setting.

  • To provide a platform for learning to students who are eligible to work as interns in order to provide students the chance to directly experience one of the big African Union initiatives
