The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) will carry on its legacy of honouring outstanding reporting that examines governmental and corporate corruption, exposes violations of human rights, and draws attention to regulatory abuses in Nigeria this year. The articles must promote human rights, be newsworthy, investigative, and expose or stop illegal activity and corruption in both the public and private spheres.

WSCIJ’s thorough award coding and vetting procedure will be used to evaluate the entries by a panel of media experts and business people. Judges will award points for each submission based on the depth of the investigation, the weight of the supporting evidence, the human rights components, the journalistic courage, the individual creativity, the public interest, the concrete impact, and the overall presentation.
