  • To improve and broaden their professional and personal competencies in their preferred career path, the Graduate Trainee will be required to participate in a formal learning programme and on-the-job training.

Eligibility of Development Bank Of South Africa (DBSA) Graduate Programme For Youths

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree (such as a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree) and not be pursuing further education in 2024.
  • No prior work experience necessary, or a maximum of six months.
  • must be a resident of South Africa.
  • Academic record for the final year of study with a cumulative average of 65% or above.
  • A degree from a South African university, or a credential that is connected with and acknowledged by the NQF.

General DBSA Graduate Programme

  • Take part in all activities required for the Young Talent programme that are scheduled and determined by the leadership team.
  • Work on initiatives as assigned by line management and the Young Talent programme, contributing, participating, and delivering results.
  • Attend and actively engage in any Young Talent programme training sessions that are scheduled, as well as any other learning and development activities that you and your line manager determine are required to expand your knowledge and abilities.
  • Take part in any on-campus events that will help to market the DBSA graduate course, such as career fairs and presentations.
  • Contribute to the Young Talent program’s ongoing review and enhancement by pointing up areas for improvement and potential success factors.

Training and Development of Skills

  • Execute all planning, delivery, and execution-related tasks.
  • At the outset of each assignment, specify the learning objectives.
  • Deliver the given job in accordance with the line manager’s specifications for execution requirements and expected quality.
  • Meeting deadlines for tasks and projects set by line management, and accepting full responsibility for delivery in accordance with defined corporate goals and objectives
  • Effectively communicate with all parties involved.
  • Give the line manager regular updates on the status of the allocated activities and projects.
  • Request feedback on programming outcomes, performance, and advancement on a frequent basis.
  • Research new advancements in the assigned environment to stay current, and suggest to management where and how to apply new technologies and processes.
  • At the conclusion of each assignment during the programme, or at predefined intervals, provide learnings to key role players in a systematic and articulate manner.
  • With the line manager’s input, create an individual performance plan to track and review learning progress and to be discussed as part of the formal performance appraisal process.
  • Actively communicate with your allocated mentor to establish a connection that will benefit both of you.
