Programming Goals

  • The PEPFAR Community funding Programme (PCGP) aims to give funding to initiatives that put creative ideas into practise and advance PEPFAR’s goal to lowering HIV infections and ensuring equitable, inclusive access to treatment.
  • In order to strengthen the nation’s HIV response, they want to achieve this by incorporating new ideas and methods into programme designs that are responsive to community needs for prevention and treatment. They also want to combat stigma and discrimination that prevent populations affected by HIV from having equitable access to comprehensive services.
  • Key and priority populations affected by HIV/AIDS should be among the programmes’ targeted beneficiaries. Key populations (KPs), priority groups like adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), people with disabilities (PLWDs), people living with HIV (PLHIV), and orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) are a few examples, but they are not the only ones.

Financial Details

  • A minimum of USD 6,000 and a maximum of USD 15,000 will be made available in grants.
  • If a second phase is granted, the funding must be used for a maximum 12-month implementation period or a 24-month period.
  • Successful PCGP Funding Applications Must Show: How the Initiative Complements Planned or Existing Local HIV/AIDS Activities or Fills Gaps in the Local HIV/AIDS Response; Focus on Innovative, Transformative Ideas that are Sustainable and Lead to Long-Term Change; Potential Grantees Experience in Implementing and Sustaining Programmes that Promote HIV/AIDS Prevention Activities; and/or The Potential Grantees Capacity to Measure the Results and Impact of the Potential Grantees Initiative.
  • Government authorities and members of the local community are encouraged to write letters of support.

Project Standards

  • In addition to proposing a demonstrated impact on HIV care, support, and/or prevention services in the community, projects should address an urgent need.
  • There should be a mechanism for monitoring and evaluating the project proposal.
