For the Lex:lead Annual Essay Contest 2023, applications are now being accepted. Top-ranked submissions responding to the essay prompt for this year are invited for the competition. A network of worldwide lawyers and friends called Lex:lead promotes economic growth with a focus on the least developed nations of the world. Students from qualified nations can enter an annual essay competition on the subjects of law and development. Additionally, they began arranging internships for their students with NGOs and the World Bank in 2015. In 2018, they started mentoring its winners. Lex:lead, which was established with funding from the International Bar Association Foundation, is a collaborator with the Global Forum on Law, Justice, and Development, which is financed by the World Bank.

Awards

There will be up to 16 US$500 rewards available. Awards are typically made to the successful student’s educational institution rather than to him or her directly. Any applicable bank conversion fees and/or taxes may also be deducted from the money received. There will never be a participation fee for Lex:lead.
All enrolled applicants who turn in an essay by December 31, 2023, will get a Certificate of Participation.

Eligibility

Student eligibility requirements include citizenship and enrollment in at least one law course in a qualifying nation.
To be confirmed for an award, finalists must demonstrate their citizenship and ongoing enrollment at an accredited university in one of the nations that qualify, with at least one law course.
