Students with exceptional academic records are eligible for a small number of fellowships at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level from EPFL. Some of the fellowships are paid for directly by EPFL, while others are supported by alliances with philanthropies or businesses.

The fellowship comprises a reservation for a student room in a residential hall and CHF 10,000 every semester.
The fellowship is paid over three years for bachelor’s degrees while it is paid over four semesters for master’s degrees (students must have earned at least 50 ECTS credits and have an overall average of 5,0/6 in order for the fellowship to be renewed).
Based on their academic achievements, EPFL awards a small number of fellowships to the most meritorious applicants. They are designed for students who have excelled in both academics and extracurricular activities throughout their pre-university coursework.
- Students in their senior year of high school must check the appropriate box on their Bachelor’s application form before April 30 and supply the required application file in order to be eligible for the Bachelor Excellence Fellowship.
- Candidates must submit their Master Excellence Fellowship application via the same online form as their master’s program application by 15 April or 15 December to be considered (there is a box to tick indicating that the candidates profile should also be considered for an excellence fellowship).
