German Chancellor Fellowship 2023 applications now open. They are looking for tomorrow’s leaders. Are you a recent graduate with some basic leadership abilities? Submit straight away!

Join the fellowship to carry out a self-selected project that advances your professional development, has a positive impact on society, and is long-lasting. More so, you will actively participate in a global network of committed leaders afterwards, to advance your profession, as well as travel to Germany with a German Chancellor Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Benefits

You are given a year in Germany as part of this fellowship for aspiring leaders to carry out a project concept you have come up with. In order to uncover fresh solutions to the world’s contemporary problems, we’ll help you network with future leaders from around the world.

Similarly, they provide you:

  • 2,000, 2,300, or 2,600 euros a month, depending on your degree of training and employment
  • a comprehensive language course before you start your fellowship, financing for German classes while you are on fellowship, and one-on-one assistance while you are in Germany
  • further financial assistance, such as for mobility, family members traveling with you, travel costs, full private health insurance, or additional German language classes
  • collaborative activities that allow you to interact professionally and personally with fellows from your year group while learning about German culture and society,
  • networking events that allow you to work with others in peer groups and individually plan more intimate networking events,
  • extensive alumni sponsorship, in particular to support long-term connections with your cooperation partners in Germany over the course of your entire professional career. a two-week study tour through Germany as well as a number of events where you can connect with fellows and meet representatives of German businesses and institutions.

Eligibility

Regardless of business, the German Chancellor Fellowship supports future multipliers, thought leaders, and decision-makers. Please submit an application if you

  • hold Brazilian, Chinese, Indian, South African or American citizenship
  • work in a field such as politics, business, media, administration, society or culture and have demonstrable initial leadership experience
  • will have completed your first academic degree (Bachelor or comparable degree) no more than twelve years ago. The key date for calculating this twelve-year period is 1 October 2024.
  • want to conduct an independently developed project with a host of your choice in Germany
  • have good knowledge of English and/or German
