About us

We think that there is always a solution to a problem and that brilliant ideas can emerge from anywhere. Young people in our community, aged 13 to 18, are invited to take up the challenge and submit a one-minute film outlining their solution for resolving environmental problems.

Furthermore, we think that when we pool our ideas, we can take action to save the environment and enhance our future.

What are the submission requirements for the challenge?

• Videos must focus on an environmental issue and inspire positive change, with a clear call to action.
• Videos must be in English or Spanish, no longer than one minute, no larger than 200 Mb and can be filmed in vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) format.
• Video submissions can be created by one person, or in teams of up to six members. Team members must be between the ages of 13 to 18 at the time of entry.
• All video content must be original or copyright-free. Be sure to follow the Videos for Change community guidelines.

How to apply

How can I get started?

Here are the steps for registering and submitting a video:

• Step 1. Sign up at www.SlingshotChallenge.org to receive challenge updates.
• Step 2. Get registered via our Videos for Change site. If you’re under 18, you’ll need to enter a parent email address and get their consent to participate.
• Step 3: Download challenge toolkit and sign up for a workshop.
• Step 4: Create and submit your 1-minute video for a chance to receive up to $10,000 in funding.

Register on Videos For Change to see videos from youth like you and to submit your own video. If you’re under 18, you’ll need a guardian’s email and their consent to participate.
