The CrossCulture Programme (CCP) provides yearly funding to professionals and dedicated volunteers from over 40 countries through the CCP Fellowships. Participants enhance their expertise, make new relationships, and develop intercultural skills over two to three months of work-related stays in host organisations in Germany or CCP partner countries. The CCP Fellows’ networks, experience, and local knowledge are then advantageous to the host organisations. Additionally, participants can go to professional events, networking opportunities, and transcultural courses organised by the CCP. Participants take the experience they have obtained back to their home organisation after returning to their regular work lives.

Fellowships will be available both on-site and digitally by 2024. Participants may select one of these two choices, subject to funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, depending on their individual circumstances, and in accordance with COVID-19 admission conditions.

When the application is submitted,

  • The applicant must be at least 23 years old.
  • A minimum of two years of verified professional experience or unpaid labour in a civil society group within the nation of birth.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • The candidate is well enough to spend more time overseas.
  • Desirable: The candidate has a history of sustained social engagement.
  • The candidate can provide proof of full-time employment in the relevant profession.
  • There is or will be a collaboration with an organisation in the intended nation.
  • The candidate has additional language proficiency, especially in German.
  • The following professions are the main ones to which fellowships are given:
  • Society and Policy
  • Media and society
  • Civil rights and harmony
  • Justice for the climate and sustainable development
  • Furthermore, the following important subject will receive additional attention in 2024:
  • Cyclical economy
  • Women and Diversities

Eligibility

  • Students are not permitted to take part in the programme. If the intended recipient is already receiving a scholarship at the same time, the scholarship cannot be awarded.

Benefits

CCP Fellowships primarily support and improve civil society players in their endeavours. This covers the assistance and deals listed below:

  • Cooperation, either in person or virtually, with a visiting organisation from the CCP network
    mentoring for the fellowship’s length
  • Professional training in the fellow’s field of work, whether provided online or on-site, with consideration for their personal and professional goals
  • Connecting with additional CCP bearers of fellowships
  • Being a part of the alumni network of CCP
  • Ifa will pay for the following expenses for international participants in fellowship holders concentrating on one of the main areas of CCP: attendance at a professional gathering
  • A stipend of 650 euros a month in addition to payment for round-trip flights, lodging, a monthly pass for public transit in the fellow’s home city, health insurance, and reimbursement of any applicable visa fees will cover the following expenses for participants from Germany:
  • A 1.200 euro monthly stipend, health insurance, compensation for round-trip travel expenses, and reimbursement for any fees associated with obtaining a visa
  • It is not intended for participants to bring wives or kids along with them. The ifa does not pay for anything or take on any liability for other people. The German Federal Foreign Office’s financial approval is required before the scholarship sum mentioned above can be awarded.

Application

  • Using this application gateway, choose the relevant nation call for applications.
  • Fill out the application and attach your supporting documentation. Since input cannot be cached by the application system, all documents must be prepared for upload at the beginning of the application.
  • Fill out the application and submit it online through the application portal.

Application Materials

  • English curriculum vitae including information on training and education, employment history, volunteer activities, and other abilities
  • Using this form, write a letter of recommendation from a supervisor in the applicant’s home organisation or place of employment in their home country.
  • An optional photo

Choosing

  • The appropriate email notification will be sent to the chosen applicants, most likely in April 2024. Participation in the programme will thereafter happen between May and November of 2024.
