Our goal is to increase advocacy for and knowledge of dyslexia and related learning disabilities throughout Africa. Our objectives include providing educators with the resources they need to serve kids with a variety of learning requirements, advancing significant dyslexia research, cooperating with educational institutions, fostering an informed and active community, and empowering individuals to advocate for dyslexia.

We are thrilled to introduce the Dyslexia Advocate Fellowship Programme in support of our objective. This innovative project is looking for dedicated people who are eager to make a significant difference in the lives of Africans who have dyslexia.

In this first batch, we have the following goals:

  • Enlisting two committed people from each of the 54 African nations.
  • Assembling a group of supporters to raise consciousness about and funding for Africans with dyslexia.

Benefits

Although the African Dyslexia Advocate Programme does not provide financial rewards, there are other advantages:

  • A vigorous, two-year training course.
  • Serving as the country’s representative for the Africa Dyslexia Organisation.
  • Raising awareness of dyslexia in Africa.
  • Gaining work experience and developing new abilities.
  • Being a part of a committed group pursuing inclusion.

Eligibility

The following prerequisites must be met by applicants in order to be considered for the programme:

  • Adhere to the Africa Dyslexia Organization’s mission
  • Be in the age range of 18 to 55.
  • Possess at least a postsecondary certification in training and education.
  • Be prepared to devote at least two years to the programme.
  • Possess a minimum of one year of job experience and one year of verified volunteerism

The perfect applicant is one who:

  • Firmly believes in the goals and objectives of the Africa Dyslexia Organisation.
  • Is adaptable, self-reliant, and has a good sense of humour.
  • Self-driven and enthusiastic about volunteering.
  • Have the ability to absorb learning from the project.
  • Respects and values the languages, cultures, religions, and social customs of others.
  • Possesses a wide range of social networking abilities.
  • By taking on these duties, you will play a crucial role in realising our shared goal of fostering an accepting society for all kids with learning challenges.
