Grants from the Addax and Oryx Foundation are targeted towards high-impact initiatives with a defined beginning, middle, and end that are carried out by small groups with limited or no access to large funders.

eligibility for Addax And Oryx Foundation Grant Program In Africa And The Middle-East
- You must be an independent, non-profit organisation.
- You need to do your part to end poverty in Africa and/or the Middle East at its source.
- Two or more of the Foundation’s four work areas must be the focus of your initiative.
- Your initiative must strive to benefit the most marginalised groups in a tangible and long-lasting way.
- Your initiative must promote sustainable development by enhancing livelihoods and strengthening community capacity.
Selection Standards
- The Addax and Oryx Foundation provides funding for projects carried out by non-profit, non-governmental organisations that are:
- A track record of success in the intended field of endeavour.
- Demonstrated transparency in the utilisation of funds and budgetary efficiency.
- Help eliminate the main reasons for poverty in Africa and the Middle East.
- Make an impact that can be measured and sustained for the most marginalised groups.
- By empowering people throughout time with skills and knowledge, you can ensure sustainable development.
- The Foundation prefers to support small businesses managed by passionate individuals who are personally involved in the projects they propose, as well as initiatives that span two or more of its main areas.
- The organisations it sponsors agree to submit a biannual report on the project’s status and the expenditure of funding. The Foundation is steadfast in its commitment to the effective technical and financial management of the projects it funds.
- The Foundation has created a policy document as a suggestion to NGOs looking for financing for projects involving water. The Addax and Oryx Foundation prioritises initiatives that address the entire water supply cycle, with a focus on the ecosystem-based natural recharge of subsurface water.

- Ongoing initiatives are not supported by the Foundation.
- Directly to people or their families
- Projects, programmes, or organisations with a religious or spiritual focus
- Political groups and/or occasions
- For-profit businesses
- Independent fundraising
- Unauthorised charities
- Projects outside of the Middle East and Africa
- Sponsorships in sports
- When the project’s only goal is research, conventions, conferences, and seminars for professionals
- Requests that are limited to expenses for travel, lodging, and/or meals
- Requests that are limited to operating or administrative costs
