The June L. Biedler Prize for Cancer Journalism was established by the American Association for Cancer Research to honour great examples of cancer journalism and to honour specific professionals who have written accurate, interesting, and compelling stories.
Dr. June L. Biedler, a scientist, mentor, and pioneer in cancer research who also served as a former member of the AACR board of directors, left a sizable gift to the organisation that funds the AACR Biedler Prize. The award will recognise and reward extraordinary journalism that improves the public’s understanding of cancer, cancer research, cancer advocacy, or cancer policy in recognition of Dr. Biedler’s exceptional efforts to advance science and health care communications.
