Through public interest litigation, legal research and advocacy, and community lawyering, the Equal Education Law Centre (EELC), a registered law clinic, works to advance the Justice Fellowship Programme for Solicitors & Law Graduates 2024 ,right to equitable, secure, and high-quality basic education in South Africa. Its staff of social justice lawyers has expertise in education law and policy. The EELC additionally seeks to train young, competent lawyers and recent graduates in public interest litigation.

Important Responsibilities
- Aid in matters involving strategic litigation. Writing, classifying, filing, and paginating pleadings, briefs, legal opinions, and other court papers are all included in this, as well as attending court and other hearings and performing legal research.
- Clients who come to the EELC’s daily walk-in clinic are attended to, counselled, and helped.
- Communicate with customers, advisors, and partner organisations
- To help advocacy and litigation efforts, conduct research.
- help in the creation of research papers
- Contribute to and help with the creation of submissions for laws and legislative change
- Support community involvement initiatives
- Represent EELC in public forums and civil society
- Support the efficient running of the Center’s programmes and the legal counsel for EELC.
Knowledge, Abilities and Experience
- An LLB degree, which must be earned before January 2024.
- A confirmed passion for social justice and human rights
- Shown proficiency in English oral and writing communication
- Talents in analysis, effective presentation, and meticulousness
- Knowledge of additional South African languages will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of computers and strong legal research abilities.
