The CEZ/One Young World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 7 is currently accepting applications. Governments and businesses must invest more to power the sustainable future that the world needs, and CEZ Group is dedicated to making this future a reality. The mission of CEZ Group is to introduce technologies to address energy needs and improve quality of life. To launch the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 7, they have teamed up with One Young World.

The challenge aims to find and assist youth-led businesses that are addressing the energy divide in the nations and regions most severely affected. They welcome young innovators’ solutions that:

Energy should be made accessible to populations with restricted access.
Discuss the negative effects of limited access to energy. Providing sanitation services appropriate for energy-scarce settings is one example that applies.
Off-grid communities may benefit from effective food or pharmaceutical chilling systems. ensuring that kids who don’t have much access to power get a good education.
supplying clean substitute fuels for cooking.

Prize

The reward for the best answer is:

  • sponsorship for attendance in the 2023 One Young World Summit.
  • a gift of $50,000 from CEZ Group.
  • A group of experts from the CEZ Group will mentor you for a year. Based on the requirements of your endeavor or organization, the mentoring team will work to speed your solution.

Eligibility

  • The proposed solution must clearly address the SDG7 issue.
  • 18 to 30 years old when it was founded.
  • Clearly defined main stakeholders and beneficiaries, a planned time frame, and feasible, well-thought-out projected results are all desirable.
  • A simple solution is already being tested, used, or scaled.
  • A beneficial social impact must be achieved by solutions, such as by creating educational outcomes, career possibilities, or skill development.
  • The social impact of a solution must be sufficiently assessed and/or quantified.
  • Through the resources they produce and/or the investments and donations they draw, they must be able to operate effectively and thrive on their own.
  • Possibility of increasing impact after extending in size, scope, and/or to new areas.

Application

The deadline for applications is July 14, 2023. Winners of the challenge will be announced by August 11, 2023.
