A vertically integrated venture advising company called Braid Theory promotes businesses with a strong focus on science and engineering. We employ a hybrid model of services to help teams that are founded on rigorous evidence-based entrepreneurship and proven methodologies, with a particular emphasis on three crucial areas of commercialization: growing capability, capacity, and intellectual capital. In order to create prospects for market traction and growth, we go beyond conventional accelerator or incubator programs by bringing technology entrepreneurs and industry together.

Since 2016, Braid Theory has developed a sizable pipeline of businesses with the goal of finding ways to expand a sustainable blue economy. We accelerate the adoption of disruptive technologies, stimulate market expansion, and forge profitable partnerships by bringing together these entrepreneurs with sector influencers and corporate partners.
The Fellowship’s mission
In order to identify the most promising solutions across all sectors of the blue economy innovation ecosystem and enabling technologies, Braid Theory offers a choice of programming.
Our programs use a curriculum-based teaching and milestone approach and provide post-program support for an additional six months. Startups can use Braid Theory’s distinctive waterfront facility, which includes coworking spaces, lab space, test-beds, and platforms for robotics and ocean observation. In order to accelerate business growth on a road to commercialization and acceleration, founders collaborate with a team of consultants, instructors, and market partners. The MOANA network, partners in seed and venture finance, as well as other money sources, such as grants, offer funding alternatives.
- Celsius is a 90-day pre-accelerator program for synthetic biology entrepreneurs working on applications for bioenergy, novel materials, and food supplies.
- LA Blue is a 90-day accelerator program for businesses developing products for the maritime, logistics, freshwater, and ocean industries.
- ZE Challenge & Studio – Exclusively for startups offering zero-emission maritime solutions. The winning solutions from the challenge will be transferred to a venture studio to execute pilot projects for marine problem owners.
- Teams can create pilot projects in blue economy-related applications using Springboard, a Startup Studio.
