About the Organization
The IWMF is the first organization in the world created specifically to meet the comprehensive needs of female and nonbinary journalists. We are a fearless and welcoming group that offers awards, reporting opportunities, fellowships, grants, safety training, and emergency assistance to journalists wherever they are. Our revolutionary work, which ranks as one of the biggest advocates for media created by women, promotes press freedom and equal opportunity across the globe.
We also honor fearless female photographers and journalists whose daring sets them unique. And we investigate the reasons why men continue to dominate the journalism industry while promoting inclusive policies that support the advancement of people from historically underrepresented groups into senior positions.
