About FOYA
FOYA was founded to honor and celebrate young entrepreneurs who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Africa, while also motivating others to launch their own enterprises and generating sustainable employment.
The Platform
The platform has evolved into a convening agent for participants in the ecosystem of young entrepreneurs, drawing in and granting access to key investors, leaders in the not-for-profit sector, and public authorities to solve common problems and come up with effective, long-lasting solutions.
The FOYA Awards is an annual awards ceremony that was first held in Nairobi, Kenya, in November 2016 and is currently expanding throughout Africa. It was designed to support the strategic goal of retaining, honoring, and recognizing high-quality SMEs.
The goal of FOYA is to inspire those who have yet to launch their own enterprises by recognizing and appreciating the young entrepreneurs who are fostering economic growth and job creation in our countries.
Youth make up the bulk of the African population, and youth also make up the majority of the unemployed. So, we need to start thinking about starting enterprises to give other young people who can’t greater opportunities. By the time they graduate, young Africans who enroll in university at a rate of 50% could have created more than enough jobs for the other 50%.
Goals
The goal of FOYA is to honor and value the young entrepreneurs who are advancing entrepreneurship on the African continent. Our goal is to galvanize and honor the young and largely unheard-of entrepreneurs who face difficult challenges in order to compete and establish their brands in the market, thereby creating job opportunities, rather than to carry out the standard, uninspired, decades-old feting of successful, seasoned entrepreneurs.
After four years of operation in Kenya, FOYA expanded into Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda in 2020. We didn’t stop there; the expansion of the FOYA to encompass Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, and South Africa in 2021 represented a significant achievement.
A wonderful monument to the courage, enthusiasm, and perseverance of the young people on the continent, FOYA celebrates how they overcame all obstacles to realize their aspirations while maintaining hope for a more affluent future.
You deserve to be honored and valued, in our opinion. Winning a FOYA award signifies that YOU are a true representation of how young people can and will encourage other young people to aspire to be like YOU. It will also give you and your company exposure throughout Africa.

What sets FOYA unique?
The effect FOYA has on young entrepreneurs is what sets it apart. Instead than honoring seasoned, successful entrepreneurs, we honor the youthful founders of startups.
Global economic prosperity is a result of fostering and recognizing the entrepreneurial spirit.
Entrepreneurs not only create jobs for themselves but also for other people. By introducing innovative goods, techniques, and manufacturing processes to the market and by increasing overall productivity and competitiveness, entrepreneurial activities may have an impact on a nation’s economic performance.
Milestones

- Create a network of best practices knowledge that will enable companies to benchmark and enhance performance using peers in their industries.
- Recognize business realities and aid organizations in improving year after year using an easy-to-use tool that produces outcomes quickly.
