Description of the Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship
The dynamic city of Belfast will play host to the One Young World Summit in 2023. Belfast is known for its tenacity and positivity. The city and its people recognize the value of leadership after emerging from decades of conflict thanks to their courage and resiliency. 25 years have passed since the Belfast Good Friday Agreement was signed.
Northern Ireland boasts a generation of gifted, responsible, and civically engaged young people who are promoting good social change for a better future, with approximately 40% of its population under the age of 30. It is crucial to ensure the representation of young Northern Irish leaders who are having a positive influence on their communities as the Summit welcomes delegates from more than 190 nations once more.
The Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship offers funding for young people from all over Northern Ireland who are not already members of OYW partner organizations to attend the One Young World Summit 2023 and join the One Young World Community, building on previous successful efforts to increase host nation delegate participation.
In order to boost the number of places available for young Northern Irish leaders, the Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship is actively seeking the assistance of a coalition of sponsors from all industries.

Leading scholars from Northern Ireland will receive:
Access for delegates to the One Young World Summit 2023, which will be held in Belfast from October 2–5.
Providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner catering.
membership in the Ambassador Community of One Young World.
Eligibility:
You may do so if:
- are between the ages of 18 and 30 by the One Young World Summit in 2023.
- are a Northern Ireland resident.
- Possess a track record of leadership and serve as an example in your neighborhood.
- Possess the ability to innovate and solve problems based on values.
- Possess the capacity to come up with and communicate significant ideas.
- Diverse viewpoints are warmly welcomed by the Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship. This means that regardless of their area of interest or experience, they are seeking for people who are improving the lives of others in the best way they can given their specific circumstances.
