The DAAD Leadership for Africa Scholarship Programme 2023 is now accepting applications from Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan, and Tanzania. The “Leadership for Africa” (LfA) scholarship program supports young refugees and national scholars from Ethiopia, Uganda, Somalia, South Sudan, or Tanzania in their academic preparation and advancement in higher education institutions in Germany.

This program aims to aid in the education of future leaders, who will be crucial for the continued growth of their home nations during a period of violence and displacement in several African countries. Scholarships for Master’s degrees in Germany are available from “Leadership for Africa” to qualifying candidates in all fields of study, with the exception of medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, law, the arts, and architecture. All recipients of “Leadership for Africa” scholarships gain access to a complimentary training program in civil society, good governance, and career development. In addition to the usual academics, the required program must be completed.
