Date of Application Deadline: March 10, 2023 | A program for prospective artisan entrepreneurs called The Allan Gray Makers StartUp Academy 2023
For budding artisan entrepreneurs in the plumbing and electrical trades, there is a free, eight-month incubation program called the Allan Gray Makers StartUp School. Entrepreneurs will be given help and training as they launch their firms. The program will begin on May 15, 2023, and it will be offered on-site. Allan Gray Makers provides funding for The StartUp Academy. This means that all program expenses, including a little living allowance, are taken care of, and all that is required of you is your commitment, time, and effort!

Minimal standards / Eligibility:
In order to apply, you must be:
Age: 18-35
- Must be a citizen of South Africa or possess legal status as a permanent resident.
- Must have successfully completed an appropriate learning program in the electrical or plumbing trades.
- Requisite to pass a trade test (having a trade test certificate is advantageous)
- Area around Johannesburg
- Plumbing and electrical are industries.
- Intentions: Want to launch their own company.
Content of the program includes:
1. Instruction in entrepreneurial mindset, business management, financial management, branding, marketing and sales, and personal mastery.
2. Possibilities for teamwork and networking with other companies.
3. Having access to business advisory, industry-expert coaches, business shadowing, and personal mentoring.
4. Market accessibility with an emphasis on closing your first transaction.
5. Have access to workspace with minimal resources.
6. Financial resources to launch a firm and take a trade exam
7. Graduates can get ongoing assistance.
