The Skills Initiative for Africa (SIFA) Financing Cooperation (FC), a pan-African initiative launched in 2016 by the African Union Commission (AUC) and co-funded by the German government and the European Union (EU), is responsible for implementing the SIFA Funding Window III (FW3), which is supported by national governments in the eight SIFA partner countries of Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Togo, and Tunisia. SIFA’s overarching goal is to improve young people’s employment opportunities in Africa. For the duration of its experimental phase (2016–2025), the program funds initiatives aimed at helping young people in African nations strengthen their employability skills.

·     Ability to Respond to COVID-19 Demonstrated Jobs That Show Value for Money
·     The conceptualization, development, and commercialization of goods, services, or procedures that address a problem or a skills shortage in the labor market shall be the focus of proposals.

Training for Employability and Innovation in Informal Sectors among Women Entrepreneurs
Participants in professional TVET from the public and private sectors, as well as from academia, civic society, and organizations that encourage entrepreneurship in the labor market, are eligible applicants.

A grant of between EUR 0.2 and EUR 3 million might be awarded to selected projects for their innovative and sustainable ideas.
The following are excluded from FW3 financing because it is intended for the execution of the proposed innovation only:
• projects that are solely concerned with research; • projects that are solely concerned with market studies;Â
• projects that are solely concerned with the formulation of policies; • projects that are solely concerned with the development of human resources or training; • projects that are solely concerned with the construction of infrastructure
