The Japan-Africa Investment Drive investment accelerator 2023 for African Startups is open for applications
The Japan-Africa Investment Drive is a cohort-based investment accelerator with the goal of “clinically” matching high-potential African startups with appropriate Japanese VCs. It also offers close support to both the startup and the investor throughout the engagement to maximize the likelihood of investment.
The deadline for applications is December 19, 2022.
Eligibility requirements
Startups that fit the requirements below are welcome to apply;
- B2C, B2B, and B2C2
- Establish a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
- Post MVP Post Traction valuation of at least $5 million (minimum MRR of $10,000)
- Looking for investments of at least $500,000.
- Please remember that choosing does not ensure investment.
Benefits
- Possibility of direct investment
A direct investment from our partner venture capital firm Japan Strategic Capital (JSC) co. will be considered for 8 chosen startups.
- Warm welcomes
The over 15 Japanese VCs on the curated list will be exposed to the chosen startups. The investor engagement will also get close support, including meeting scheduling, pitch deck translation, and the provision of interpreters for investor meetings.
- Aid with fundraising
Throughout the funding process, selected entrepreneurs will receive complete legal, cultural, and administrative support. On how to attract and close Japanese investment, customized one-on-one training and group seminars will also be offered.
