The International AIDS Society (IAS) seed Grant Programme 2022 $ 10 000 in funding

The International AIDS Society (IAS) encourages young leaders to submit a proposal for a six-month innovation project (from 1 January to 30 June 2023) that solves a need in the HIV response for young people living with and affected by HIV. The project can request up to USD 10,000 in funding. (The International AIDS Society (IAS) seed Grant Programme 2022)

The IAS will provide seed funds totaling USD 10,000 to a new batch of five Young Leaders in order to scale up HIV-related innovative projects that address locally identified needs. Each Young Leader is required to be a member of and get logistical support from a group working on HIV, SRHR, or other similar issues.

What will the chosen candidate get?

Awards for chosen young leaders include:

  • An innovative HIV-related project will get a USD 10,000 seed award to be implemented and/or scaled up over the course of six months (1 January to 30 June 2023)
  • Building capacity for monitoring, evaluating, reporting, communications, and networking
  • Travel to Brisbane, Australia for the 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science is contingent upon financing.
  • Become a member of the IAS 2023 Young Leaders Program

What are the requirements for eligibility?

As a Young Leader, you must:

  • Identify a company that is prepared and able to offer mentoring and administrative support for the planned Young Leaders project.
  • Age range of 18 to 30 years (and ideally under 25)
  • Accept the offer to appear in IAS digital media.
  • Be prepared to attend IAS 2023 from July 23 to July 26 in 2023, subject to funding
The hosting business must:

Be prepared to submit to the Charities Aid Foundation’s (CAF) eligibility checks.

  • Be prepared to guide the Young Leader actively.
  • Be prepared to provide logistical support to its Young Leader for the execution of their innovative initiative on a daily basis.
  • Being able to and willing to speak with the IAS in English when reporting

What are the criteria for selection?

The following criteria will be used to choose applications:

  • Plan clarity for the project
  • Proof of the project’s sustainability
  • Strength of youth participation
  • Characteristics of the Suggested Young Leader
  • The host organization’s capacity

What is the deadline?

By Monday, November 21, 23:59 CET, email the completed applications to youthhub@iasociety.org with the subject line Youth Hub Grant Programme LAST NAME.

Where can I apply?

Completed proposals must contain:

  • Filled-out application form
  • A concept note outlining the main objective of the project, the activities, the budget, the dates, and the deliverables that the financing would support (maximum two pages).
  • Finished budgeting template
  • An academic resume
  • A statement of backing from the hosting institution
