The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is a recognized initiative to support Africa’s future leaders. The University of South Africa’s Graduate School of Business Leadership in Midrand, South Africa, serves as the host institution for the YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (RLC SA)- Online application for Cohort 15 and Cohort 20 of the YALI RLC-SA
Deadline: November 13, 2022
The RLC SA strives to cultivate entrepreneurial and innovative thinking, cross-border communication, and multicultural collaboration. It also aims to develop critical thinkers who can tackle difficult, multidisciplinary challenges.
Young African leaders‘ abilities are developed by the RLC SA through core training in current African concerns and specialized training in three important areas: business and entrepreneurship; civic leadership; and public management.
THESE CRITERIA MUST BE MET BY APPLICANTS
• Age (18-35) (18-35)
• Citizenship of: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, or Zimbabwe. • Demonstrated commitment to positively impacting their communities, nations, and the African continent.
• Proven experience and track record in public management, business, entrepreneurship, or civic leadership.
• Willingness to dedicate two weeks to an online program and three weeks to a residential program (Cohort 20), or seven weeks to an online program (Online Cohort 15)
Language proficiency in English
THE PROGRAM ENCOURAGES APPLICATIONS FROM:
- Young leaders from rural areas who are economically disadvantaged;
- young leaders with disabilities;
- women;
- people who are HIV positive or are AIDS-affected;
- people who represent and fight for the rights of LGBTIQ communities in the area;
- people who are proficient in English.
The hybrid cohort 20 includes both online and in-resident students (13 March–02 April 2023) while Online Cohort 15 is entirely online (13 February–26 February 2023) (13 February – 02 April 2023)
