Applications currently welcomed by ONA for the Women’s Leadership Accelerator Programme 2023. A comprehensive initiative to advance women in digital media.
The Online News Association is the world’s largest digital journalism association. Membership includes journalists, technologists, executives, students, educators and other digital media professionals. ONA’s mission is to inspire and support innovation and excellence in digital journalism.
The Women’s Leadership Accelerator Programme 2023 is a 12-week intensive course that boosts the leadership and management abilities of female innovators in the digital space. Every year, a group of women from various backgrounds, fields of expertise, and newsrooms around the world join us.
A comprehensive program of mentoring, conversation, and education from some of the greatest brains in digital media is provided through the Women’s Leadership Accelerator Programme. Participants receive coaching and assistance from ONA throughout the year in addition to working closely with mentors on difficulties specific to their jobs.
The accelerator for 2023 offers:
- A virtual welcome gathering in March, one-on-one virtual welcome coaching from March through April, and a cohort workshop in person in April or May; concentrated on practical, hands-on labor for both personal and professional purposes; Deep dives on building leadership and management abilities; one-on-one coaching from industry professionals; open debates about leadership, work-life balance, and problem-solving in the newsroom
- A year of updates, targeted, useful advice, and one-on-one coaching on unique difficulties
- Enrollment for the Online News Association Conference in 2023 (#ONA23)
- August will bring the cohort’s last workshop, which will also be ONA23.
- The chance to join a group of peers who can act as a powerful career-long support system
Timeline:
- November. 10, 2022: Applications close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (4:59 UTC)
- February/March 2023: Cohort announced
- Week of March 9: Hello Meeting for WLA23 Cohort (1-2 hours, virtual)
- Between March/April: Individual welcome coaching (virtual)
- April/May 2023: In-person workshop in Chicago (exact dates to be confirmed)
- August 22, 2023: Closing workshop during ONA23 in Philadelphia
