Applications for the 2023 Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships are now open! Apply by October 21, 2022

Young professionals, mid-career professionals, and new executives from Africa with appropriate work experience and a master’s degree are eligible for fellowships.

Eligibility requirements:

  • African-American national
  • 7 years minimum of related experience
  • Master’s degree
  • Must be younger than 40 or 45 if a woman is carrying children.
  • any extra requirements established by the host

To find and mentor the next round of exceptional African leaders, the Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships were started in 2011.Three Fellows are given the chance to work with a $100,000 stipend in the executive offices of the AfDB (Abidjan), ECA (Addis Abeba), or ITC (Geneva) each year.

Addedly, Fellows develop technical and leadership abilities throughout the course of their 12-month programs while actively participating in research and policy development. The ability to gain from the direct mentoring of the leaders of the host organizations is a unique aspect of the program.

Fellows also join the Now Generation Network (NGN), where they can continue to use their knowledge and abilities to improve Africa.

Benefits:

Each Year 3 fellows that are chosen get an opportunity to work at the executive offices of the African development bank, United Nations Economic Commission For Africa, and the Interanational Trade Centre (Geneva)
