TWAS Visiting Expert Program 2021-2022.

Deadline: 1st October 2021.

Applications are welcome for TWAS Visiting Expert Program 2021-2022. This program involves visits of internationally acknowledged scientists to institutions located in developing countries and its aim is to improve research in these countries, especially those with less connection to other developed countries. The program also aims at establishing long-lasting relationships with big Scientists thus enabling capacity-building in those countries.

Deadline: 1st October 2021.

The institutions that are to be visited are allowed to invite internationally acknowledged scientists in scientific areas apart from Mathematics and Physics to get involved in research and training. The visiting scientists will closely work with the students of the institution hosting them so as to improve on their current activities and help with starting up new areas of research. The visiting scientist can also conduct lectures to the research students, supervise them, carry out research and talk about future partnerships.

Cost

TWAS will give the visiting Scientists the most direct economy class Air tickets as the host institutions shall cover the living expenses.

Eligibility

Those that are internationally acknowledged in their scientific fields will be considered for this program.

The nomination of women will be highly prioritized.

Application

Institutions that would like to be considered for this program must fill in the online application form and provide the following documents;

  • Short CV of the scientist (max of 10 pages) and publications list, a letter containing details about the research programs which they could assist at the institutions, and a supporting statement from the head of the hosting institute.
