Applications are actually open for the 2027 Continental Reinsurance Plc Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards. Continental Reinsurance Plc is happy to announce the twelfth version of the Pan-African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards (2027) — Africa’s main platform celebrating excellence in insurance coverage, threat, and resilience reporting.

The Awards honour journalists who’re shaping conversations round insurance coverage and reinsurance throughout the continent. Entries are invited from print, on-line, broadcast, and social media journalists who’ve revealed work in English, French, or Arabic.

New from 2026: Best Re/Insurance Social Media Entry — recognising digital creators utilizing social platforms to make insurance coverage tales extra accessible and interesting.

Eligibility

Awards and Prizes

Winners will obtain certificates, trophies, and money prizes in recognition of excellent journalism that advances understanding of insurance coverage and reinsurance throughout Africa.

Prize Structure

• Overall Winner: USD 2,000
• Category Winners: USD 1,500 every
• 1st Runners-Up: USD 1,000 every
• 2nd Runners-Up: USD 500 every
• Femi Oyetunji Future Talent Award: USD 1,500

An impartial panel of judges comprising revered professionals from the media, enterprise, and insurance coverage sectors will consider all submissions primarily based on the set standards. The Dr. Femi Oyetunji Future Talent Award, which recognises an rising journalist, is chosen by the judges and isn’t open for entry.
