Applications are open for the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) 2026. Water is skilled in a different way throughout folks, communities and environments. Photography has the ability to make these experiences seen – documenting challenges, celebrating options and connecting world conversations to actual human tales.

In collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) invites photographers from around the globe to contribute to this wider dialog by displaying how water shapes our world and the individuals who rely upon it.

This world pictures competitors invites photographers to submit a narrative of 5–10 images that explores the connection between:

• Water & Innovation
• Water & Challenges

Prizes

• 1st prize: $10,000
• 2nd prize: $8,000
• third prize: $5,000

Eligibility

• Participants have to be people aged 18 years and over, on the time of their submission.
• You could submit 5 to 10 pictures.
• You should present a title and outline to your portfolio.
• Submitted photograph should have an authentic file in JPEG format, with prime quality and determination, of a minimal 5 MB in dimension, the minimal of the longest edge must be a minimum of 2000 pixel and the standard a minimum of 300dpi.
• Submission(s) from cellphones and drones are allowed.
• You are kindly requested to add the unique photograph(s) (RAW) or the photograph(s) with none modifying on the time of submitting the photograph(s) to the competitors.
• All submitted photograph(s) should not comprise any tag(s), signature(s), preliminary(s), body, border(s), brand(s) or some other references and/or marks added by the participant.
• Basic technical modifying of the photograph(s) is suitable, supplied that any such modifying doesn’t have an effect on the authenticity and/or genuineness of the photograph(s). Advanced modifying used to create illusions, deceptions and/or manipulations; together with compositing and inventive retouching of the photograph(s) is prohibited.

Application

Submissions are open from 16 September 2026 till 15 October 2026 at 11:59 PM (UAE Standard Time – GMT +4). No submissions will probably be accepted after the deadline.
