Applications are open for the Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 4.0 2026. The Black Ideas Grant (B.I.G.) 4.0 is the fourth funding cycle of the Foundation for Black Communities’ (FFBC) flagship Black Ideas Grant program. Building on the success of earlier funding rounds, B.I.G. 4.0 continues FFBC’s dedication to investing in Black-led, Black-serving, and Black-mandated (B3) organizations and teams which might be creating constructive change in Black communities throughout Canada.

B.I.G. 4.0 gives funding by three streams to strengthen organizations, develop group applications and companies, and put money into group areas that contribute to a number of of the next focus areas:

• Combating Anti-Black Racism
• Improving Social Outcomes
• Improving Economic Outcomes

Through a participatory grantmaking strategy, B.I.G. 4.0 helps group-pushed options by investing in initiatives that strengthen organizational capability, enhance entry to applications and companies, and create lasting affect for Black communities.

Grants

They invite eligible B3 organizations at varied levels of improvement to apply for certainly one of three funding streams:

• Core Stream: Up to $30,000 to help core and operational wants unrelated to programming.
• Catapult Stream: Up to $80,000 to put money into new or to develop current applications and companies.
• Community Spaces Stream: Up to $200,000 for capital tasks and social infrastructure.

Choose the stream that finest aligns along with your group’s wants and stage of improvement.   

Eligibility

To be eligible for funding, your initiative should:

• Be led by a Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving (B3) group.
• Address at the very least one of many focus areas and align with the Sustainable Development Goals and Social Determinants of Health.
• Be primarily based in Canada and full use of funds by March 31, 2028.

Note: Unincorporated organizations or teams could apply in partnership with an included B3 group.
