Applications are open for the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) Scholarship 2027-2028. The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) hereby invites suitably certified nationals of the East African Community (EAC) to apply for Cohort 4 of the KfW-funded Scholarships to pursue Master’s research in an EAC Partner State aside from their very own.

The EAC Scholarship Programme (EACSP) is a regional initiative of the East African Community (EAC) and the Federal Republic of Germany. Implemented by the Inter-University Council for East Africa, the Programme seeks to develop future leaders who will contribute to regional integration and sustainable growth by supporting college students to pursue Master’s research in an EAC Partner State aside from their nation of citizenship.

Scholarship

Up to 120 scholarships can be found beneath this cohort.

The scholarship package deal consists of:

• One return financial system-class air ticket between the scholar’s home nation and the host nation upon graduation and completion of research.
• Full tuition charges payable on to the host college.
• Arrival allowance EUR 200 upon arrival within the study nation and opening a checking account in that nation (Where possible, students are inspired to open a EUR-denominated checking account to facilitate the receipt of the allowance and cut back potential losses arising from foreign money change fluctuations and conversion prices).
• A month-to-month stipend of EUR 380 to cowl lodging, meals, native transport and different dwelling bills.
• A lump-sum allowance of EUR 650 for study supplies
• A one-time EUR 1,500 study and analysis allowance.
• Medical insurance coverage protection for the length of the scholarship.
• Visa/ Entry payment: Where fee of entry cross into the host nation or scholar cross is required.
• Participation in at the least one extracurricular occasion

Eligibility

• Be a citizen of any of the 8 EAC Partner States;
• Be under 35 years of age on the time of application;
• Apply to study in an EAC Partner State aside from their nation of citizenship;
• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimal of Second Class Upper Division, Distinction or equal qualification;
• Have utilized for admission to an eligible Master’s programme supplied by accomplice college;
• Submit a whole scholarship application inside the stipulated application interval.
