Applications are open for the Council of Europe Youth Advocacy for Democracy & Human Rights Training Course 2026. The Council of Europe Youth Department organises the third version of the coaching course Youth Advocacy for Democracy and Human Rights between 27 September and 4 October 2026 on the European Youth Centre Strasbourg. The coaching course takes place in parallel with the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Organised within the framework of the Youth Revitalising Democracy mission, the course responds to the wants of youth civil society to make full use of their capability and affect coverage and politics at native, nationwide and worldwide degree.
The coaching course goals to develop the competences of youth civil society and younger activists to advocate for human rights, democracy, guaranteeing a youth perspective in all of the Council of Europe work, in addition to advocating for the implementation and growth of Council of Europe requirements at nationwide and native degree.
Costs
- All journey and visa prices are lined by the Council of Europe in accordance with its guidelines. Accommodation and meals are supplied on the European Youth Centre Strasbourg.
Eligibility
The coaching course is designed for members who’re:
- aged between 18 and 30 years, exceptions may be made if justified;
- representatives of nationwide youth councils, worldwide youth organisations/networks, and different youth civil society, together with native and regional youth councils and youth branches of political events, motivated to additional advocate in direction of and cooperate with the Council of Europe;
- holding a management place of their organisations to observe-up on the coaching course with advocacy campaigns/initiatives;
- dedicated to the values of the Council of Europe, democracy, human rights and the rule of regulation, and to youth participation and are involved in taking additional motion;
- motivated and ready to absorb all the coaching course and be concerned within the mission observe-up;
- capable of work autonomously in English;
- resident in a single of the state events to the European Cultural Convention; exceptions may be made if justified.
The Council of Europe welcomes functions from all candidates who fulfil the particular profile of the actions, irrespective of gender, incapacity, marital or parental standing, racial, ethnic or social origin, color, faith, perception or sexual orientation.
