Applications are open for the Women’s Fellowship on Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (HMCCC) 2026. The Women’s Fellowship on Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (HMCCC) is a regional management and capability-strengthening programme designed to empower younger girls throughout the ECOWAS area to advance gender-responsive options to local weather-induced human mobility challenges.

Implemented by the Women Environmental Programme (WEP) underneath the GIZ-led Human Mobility in the Context of Climate Change (HMCCC) Programme, the fellowship seeks to strengthen girls’s participation in local weather and migration coverage processes, assist group-led initiatives, and foster regional collaboration amongst rising girls leaders.

The Fellowship Programme will recruit dynamic younger girls leaders from the following ECOWAS Member States: Nigeria, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone for Anglophone international locations; Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal, and Togo for Francophone international locations; Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau for  Lusophone international locations.

Objectives of the Fellowship

The aims of the fellowship are:

  • Strengthen girls’s management and participation in local weather mobility governance and coverage processes.
  • Build the capability of younger girls to handle local weather-induced migration and displacement via gender-responsive approaches.
  • Support fellows to design and implement group-based mostly pilot tasks that handle local weather mobility challenges.
  • Foster regional collaboration, peer studying, and data change amongst girls leaders throughout the ECOWAS area.
  • Increase girls’s illustration in regional and international local weather, migration, and growth dialogues.

Eligibility

They are searching for functions from younger girls aged 18–35 years from ECOWAS Member States who’re captivated with local weather motion, human mobility, gender equality, and group growth.

The candidates have to be younger girls who:
