The Resilience Fellowship 2026 for East African changemakers (KES 40,000 stipend, plus covered journey) – Opportunities For Africans

Applications are actually open for the 2026 Resilience Fellowship. The Resilience Project is providing spots to 12 pairs of East African changemakers (ages 18–28) for a strong 9-month journey of progress, therapeutic, management and resilience.
This is a high-commitment, 9-month fellowship designed for passionate, grounded changemakers able to dedicate time and vitality to private progress, peer management and group resilience. We’re trying for people who’re absolutely dedicated to the complete arc of the programme, together with in-person occasions, weekly facilitation, ongoing mentorship and deep group work.
Requirements
Are you:
- Aged 18–28?
- Based in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania?
- Available from July 2026 – March 2027 to commit time for coaching, facilitation, mentorship and reporting?
- Ready to apply with a companion? (You’ll each be educated as much as run Resilience Circles collectively in your local people. Therefore we’re trying for functions from pre-formed pairs who already work nicely collectively.)
- Passionate about local weather justice and constructing sturdy, emotionally resilient communities?
- A terrific listener, a compassionate leader-in-the-making, and excited to assist others?
- Open to exploring local weather anxiousness, burnout, and emotional wellbeing?
- Proficient in English?

The Commitment
You’ll must decide to:
- Completing a 2-day Mental Health First Aid on-line coaching
- Attending our 5-day, in-person Resilience Residential in full (31 July – 4 August 2026)
- Co-leading in-person Resilience Circles with 16–20 younger folks in your group (5–6 hours per week to arrange and facilitate weekly periods over 8 weeks)
- Weekly preparation and reporting – submitting suggestions and information after every session and touching base with the TRP staff for about half-hour every week
- Monthly check-ins – becoming a member of group calls to share updates, troubleshoot, and develop
- Monthly mentorship – assembly together with your assigned mentor for one hour monthly
