Applications are actually open for the 2026 UNFCCC CAPACITY Fellowship Programme. Thanks to funding from the Government of Portugal, the UNFCCC secretariat is launching a brand new spherical of the Capacity Award Programme to Advance Capabilities and Institutional Training in a single Year (CAPACITY) Fellowship Programme, with the goal of growing the capability of negotiators and thereby
growing the extent of implementation of the Paris Agreement. The CAPACITY Fellowship Programme
contributes to constructing capability for addressing local weather change in Small Island Developing States (SIDS)

- Supporting modern analytical work on local weather change within the context of sustainable
improvement; - Promoting a community of specialists who can carry inventive and modern choices to bear on
questions of local weather change; - Encouraging the management potential of younger and promising professionals of their fields.
One fellow shall be chosen from the goal group of mid-career professionals who’re already employed by a authorities or nationwide academic establishment and who’re nationals of, and dealing in, a Lusophone SIDS or LDC Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Principe, Angola, Mozambique or Timor-Leste.
Requirements
Educational background
Required: Master’s diploma in environmental science, economics, engineering, improvement research, or associated self-discipline. A mixture of a first-level college diploma and a further two years of related work expertise may be accepted in lieu of a sophisticated diploma.
Experience
Required: At least three (3) years of progressively accountable skilled expertise within the space of local weather change, together with on points relating to preparation of adaptation plans and implementation of adaptation actions.
Language abilities

- The Fellowship Programme is open to people who’re

Benefits
- The fastened month-to-month stipend, together with allowances, is EUR 4,500.
