The Afreximbank-Edordu Research Competition invites postgraduate students across Africa and collaborating Caribbean states to provide rigorous, unique analysis on the problems defining the continent’s financial trajectory: commerce, finance, integration, and sustainable growth.

The competitors honors the mental legacy of Mr. Christopher Edordu, Pioneer President of Afreximbank, whose imaginative and prescient formed the establishment’s dedication to African financial sovereignty. Winning analysis doesn’t sit on a shelf — the highest three papers are distilled into actionable coverage briefs, offered to Afreximbank management, and showcased on the Bank’s main occasions.

Eligibility Requirements

The Afreximbank-Edordu Research Competition is open to postgraduate students (Master’s or PhD) who’re presently enrolled at an accredited tertiary establishment on the African continent or in an eligible CARICOM state, and who maintain nationality of an African nation or an eligible CARICOM state.

Eligible CARICOM states are: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Submission should be unique, unpublished analysis papers that aren’t into account for publication elsewhere on the time of submission.

  • Submissions could also be written in any African Union official language: Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish or Kiswahili and shall be translated into English for jury analysis.

Competition Stages

stage 1: submission & jury evaluation

Applicants submit a whole analysis paper of three,000–5,000 phrases via the official portal. Papers are screened for eligibility, formatting, and plagiarism, then anonymized and scored by the jury in opposition to a rubric protecting originality, methodological rigor, readability, contribution to growth, and relevance to Afreximbank’s operations.
