UNDP storytelling challenge 2026 for young Egyptians. – Opportunities For Africans

Applications at the moment are open for the 2026 UNDP storytelling challenge. “Youthس” is a storytelling challenge inviting young folks throughout Egypt to showcase how local weather change seems of their on a regular basis lives and the attainable options they see of their surrounding communities.  The title Youthس blends English and Arabic, reflecting the challenge’s cross‑cultural spirit. Youthس is part of the Danish‑Egyptian Dialogue Initiative (DEDI), applied by UNDP Egypt in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. 

The challenge goals to: 

  • Amplify youth voices and lived experiences. 
  • Connect private tales to wider local weather challenges. 
  • Highlight native options and progressive concepts. 
  • Create an area the place youth really feel seen, heard, and represented. 

Requirements

The challenge is open to: 

  • Young folks aged 18–35. 
  • Residing in any governorate in Egypt. 
  • Participants can apply individually.   
  • Applicants (if shortlisted) should be capable to decide to (1) finishing the Digital Learning Platform programs and (2) take part and full the web capability constructing classes delivered underneath the competitors. 

Focus areas 

Participants could submit concepts addressing impacts, challenges, or options associated to one of many following focus areas: 

  • Food and agriculture 
  • Waste and round economic system 
  • Climate change  

Accepted codecs 

Youthس welcomes inventive freedom, together with: 

  • Short movies 
  • Reels 
  • Vlogs 
  • Photo tales  
  • Digital art work 
  • Audio tales/podcasts 

Application Requirements

Submissions embrace: 

  1. Completing the Microsoft Form, outlining the story concept, chosen subject, format, and message. 
  2. Recording a 40–60 second video answering: “Which focus area did you choose, and why did you join Youthس?” 

The video is uploaded by means of the shape and shared on social media, tagging DEDI and UNDP Egypt. 

Selection standards 

Ideas might be assessed based mostly on: 

  • Relevance to the challenge’s themes and focus areas. 
  • Clarity, power, and originality of the story concept, and its capacity to seize the viewers’s consideration and talk the message clearly. 
  • Demonstrated consciousness and understanding of the environmental or local weather subject being highlighted, whether or not on the group or at a broader degree.
