Applications are open for the Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity Graduate Summer Research Fellowships 2026. The Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity at Duke University invites functions from present Duke University graduate college students for the 2026 Summer Research Fellowship. This program permits graduate researchers to obtain mentorship, deepen their scholarship, broaden their networks, and contribute to the Cook Center’s mission of advancing social fairness.

Fellows might be related to one of many Cook Center’s analysis pillars (e.g., Educational and Economic OPPORTUNITY, Health Equity, Carceral Justice) or cross-reducing themes—techniques and constructions of inequality; public coverage engagement; information science and methodological innovation; and coaching the following technology of students.

Responsibilities

• Research Assistance: Assist with ongoing analysis initiatives (e.g., information assortment, literature opinions, or evaluation and/or mentorship of undergraduates, if relevant).
• Team Communication: Meet twice every week (in individual or digital) with the analysis workforce to debate mission updates and collaborate with submit-doctoral and school mentors. In some cases, graduate fellows can also collaborate with and function close to-peer mentors for undergraduate fellows. 
• Progress: Maintain common communication with analysis mentors (and mentees, if related) to trace progress, milestones, and questions. 
• Professional Development: Write a short abstract of your summer season analysis experiences to share on the Cook Center web site.

Stipend

• A stipend of $10,625.01 is offered.

Eligibility

• Open solely to present Duke University PhD college students who’re in good standing and might be enrolled for the Fall 2026 semester.
