Makerere University MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program 2026/2027 for Undergraduate and Master’s Study in Uganda (Fully Funded)

Applications at the moment are open for the 2026/2027 Makerere University MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University goals to deepen inclusive college schooling and help 1,000 younger folks from Africa to entry high quality schooling and transition into dignified and fulfilling work. This is achieved by offering scholarships to academically gifted younger males and ladies from Sub-Saharan Africa whose entry to greater schooling is constrained by social and financial boundaries.

Makerere University is happy to announce 13 grasp’s scholarships below the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for college students becoming a member of the Makerere University Main Campus in the 2026/2027 educational yr.

Eligibility

To apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University’s major campus

1. An applicant should belong to one of many following classes:
   1. Refugee or Internally Displaced Person (IDP) 
   2. Young individuals with disabilities  
   3. International college students
   4. Young folks residing in a refugee host neighborhood
   5. Young folks from underrepresented ethnic teams in Uganda
   6. Other Ugandan youth
2. The applicant will need to have utilized for admission to Makerere University’s major campus for 2026/2027.
3. The applicant will need to have accomplished their undergraduate schooling in an African nation.
4. The applicant must be experiencing monetary constraints that restrict their capacity to afford graduate schooling.
5. The applicant should not be a holder of another scholarship.
6. The applicant should not be pursuing or have accomplished any Master’s diploma research.
7. The applicant will need to have demonstrated engagement in management and/or neighborhood service.
8. The applicant should be 35 years or youthful on the application deadline. 
9. Applicants in the refugee, Internally Displaced Persons and s younger individuals with disabilities classes should be below 40 years of age on the application deadline.
10. A refugee applicant should maintain a legitimate Refugee Identity card or Family Attestation documentation.
11. The applicant will need to have utilized for diploma programmes prioritised below the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.
