As part of the European Union funded HealthyDiets4Africa Project, Food Security for Peace and Nutrition Africa (FSPN-Africa) is participating youth and girls innovators in main Food System transformation in Kenya by means of the Youth and Women in Agribusiness Accelerator Program Cohort III. The major objective of this system is empowering, retooling and shaping youth and girls-led improvements to scale and be investor prepared.

This initiative will present a platform for you as a participant to enhance your innovation and construct what you are promoting capability by means of E-studying, coaching and linkage to our pool of companions, specialists and key assets to assist adoption of your Agri-nutrition innovation and shopper traction obligatory for scalability.

Eligibility

For your innovation/enterprise to be eligible it should fulfill all eligibility standards listed beneath.

• Address a meals system drawback in a number of of those thematic areas:
  • Sustainable Innovations for Crop Production (options that enhance productiveness and produce protected meals whereas managing pure assets such water, soil)
  • Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture (options that produce wholesome meals by using small areas)
  • Value Addition and Fortification (options/course of/methods/enterprises that fortifies indigenous meals or remodel uncooked agricultural merchandise to new merchandise)
  • Storage and Post-harvest Handling Innovations (improvements that work to scale back submit-harvest meals waste and losses.
  • Training, Distribution and Aggregation providers.
• Focus on the Value Chains which can be Novel meals and underutilized meals, e.g.:
  • Vegetables (mushrooms, African leafy greens, pumpkin and/or pumpkin leaves)
  • Cereals (finger millet, pearl millet and/or sorghum)
  • Tubers (cassava, yams and/or candy potatoes)
  • Legumes (pigeon peas, cow peas, floor nuts, inexperienced grams and/or beans)
  • Fruits (tree tomato, guava, baobab and every other fruits)
  • Livestock (indigenous poultry, bugs for feeds and meals)
• Have presence in Kenya. Makueni, Nairobi, Kitui, Machakos, Kiambu, Kajiado and Murang’a Counties are most extremely most well-liked.

Team Eligibility
