Nominations are open for the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education 2026. The UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education honours excellent and modern contributions made by people, establishments, and organizations to advance ladies’ and ladies’s training. It is the primary UNESCO Prize of this nature and is exclusive in showcasing profitable tasks that enhance and promote the tutorial prospects of women and ladies and in flip, the standard of their lives.

Funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Prize is conferred yearly to two laureates and consists of an award of US $50,000 every to assist additional their work within the space of women’ and ladies’s training. The Director-General of UNESCO awarded the Prize for the primary time in 2016. 

Award

• Each laureate will obtain an award of US$50,000.

Eligibility

• Nominations are made by governments of UNESCO Member States or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in official partnership with UNESCO.
• They can nominate up to three people, establishments, or organizations making sturdy, modern contributions to ladies’ and ladies’s training.
• Self-nominations aren’t attainable.

Nomination

Nominations might be submitted by way of the devoted on-line platform in English or French by a National Commission or Permanent Delegation to UNESCO of the involved Member State, or by an NGO in official partnership with UNESCO.

Nominations submitted by a Member State’s National Commission should be validated by the Permanent Delegation. Nominations from an NGO in official partnership with UNESCO should be validated by the group’s headquarters. Nominations from nation branches or affiliated workplaces is not going to be accepted.
