UNODA Young Women for Biosecurity Fellowship 2026 for young scientists (Fully Funded to Geneva, Switzerland) – Opportunities For Africans

Applications at the moment are open for the UNODA Young Women for Biosecurity Fellowship. The United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) in Geneva is delighted to launch a name for functions to the Fourth Edition of the Youth for Biosecurity Fellowship. 

Since its institution as a Biosecurity Diplomacy Workshop in 2019, the programme has engaged over 140 young scientists via an progressive and fascinating coaching course. 20 competitively chosen young scientists from the Global South will take part in a collection of interactive webinars prior to an in-person go to through the assembly of the BWC Working Group on the Strengthening of the Convention in Geneva in August 2026.  

The Fellowship goals to present a possibility for rising biosecurity leaders from the Global South to:  

• Learn & Lead: Deepen your experience on biosecurity and disarmament to construct confidence and management. 
• Think & Act: Discuss views with senior consultants and develop sensible proposals to strengthen biosecurity. 
• Engage & Connect: Network with young consultants from throughout disciplines and areas inside a global neighborhood.

Fellowship Details

The Fellowship runs over a 3-month interval and requires a minimal time dedication to accommodate fellows’ work or educational schedules. You have to be obtainable to attend and interact in the entire actions under:  

• A collection of 5 on-line webinars from 3 June to 1 July 2026, with roughly one session (two hours) per week. They will happen on Wednesdays, from 2pm (CET) besides for the opening webinar at 3pm (CET).  
• A collaborative scientific poster competitors venture to put together in July 2026 and to be offered on the BWC Working Group on the Strengthening of the Convention in August 2026.
