Nominations are invited for the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture 2026. Established in 1998, the UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture rewards, every year, two laureates – people, teams or establishments – who, by their work and excellent achievements, endeavour to disseminate better data of Arab artwork and tradition.

In order to commemorate the designation of the town of Sharjah as Cultural Capital of the Arab Region in 1998, the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi proposed the institution of a prize to UNESCO. By mutual settlement, it rewarded two people from inside and past the Arab world who, by their work and excellent achievements, endeavour to disseminate better data of Arab artwork and tradition.

• Open to people, teams, or establishments from the Arab world and past;
