Applications are actually open for the 2026 National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) Bursary Programme. The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an company of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, is remitted to make sure the equitable development of the South African movie and video business. The NFVF fulfils this mandate by offering funding for the event, manufacturing, advertising and marketing, and distribution of movies, in addition to the coaching and growth of filmmakers.

• Apply a minimum of six (6) months earlier than the course graduation date
• Be a South African citizen or everlasting resident
• Have an excellent tutorial file
• Demonstrate a monetary want
• Be accepted or enrolled at an accredited abroad tertiary establishment for full-time postgraduate movie or tv research
• Have a course graduation date in September/October 2026
• Apply for a course not out there in South Africa
• Note that stay efficiency and performing programs don’t qualify for this funding
