UNESCO Juan Bosch Prize 2026 ($12,000 award)

Nominations are open for the UNESCO Juan Bosch Prize 2026. The UNESCO/Juan Bosch Prize, funded by the Dominican Republic, acknowledges younger researchers below 40 years previous whose work focuses on Latin America and the Caribbean and who’ve made notable contributions to social science analysis and social improvement coverage within the area.
UNESCO calls upon Member States, in session with their National Commissions, in addition to non-governmental organizations sustaining official relations with UNESCO and energetic in related fields, to submit nominations for the Prize.
Award
- The laureate of the 2026 version will obtain a complete award of USD $12,000.
Eligibility
- To qualify as a candidate, the proposed people have to be below 40 years previous, and their social science analysis work should tackle themes associated to the Latin America and Caribbean area.
- The nationality of the candidate will not be an element.
Nomination
Nominations could also be submitted in English, French or Spanish by the governments of Member States and in session with their National Commissions, in addition to by non-governmental organizations sustaining official relations with UNESCO and energetic in a area coated by the Prize. A self-nomination can’t be thought-about.
Each nomination shall be accompanied by a written advice, which shall embrace, in English or French, inter alia:
- An outline of the candidate’s background and achievements;
- A abstract of the work or the outcomes of the work, publications and different supporting paperwork of main significance, submitted for consideration;
- A press release specifying the candidate’s contribution to the Prize’s aims.
