Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance Program 2026 for West African civil society organisations – Opportunities For Africans

Applications at the moment are open for the 2026 CSR-Hub Call for Applications: Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance. The Civic Space Resource Hub (CSR-Hub) is the West Africa hub of the Global Weaving Resilience initiative, designed to strengthen the capacities of civil society organisations (CSOs) within the area. The aim is to make them extra resilient, well-resourced, compliant, and sustainable. Through a 12-month programme of tailor-made coaching, mentorship, teaching, and institutional help, the CSR-Hub enhances the operational, digital, monetary, and governance techniques of CSOs working to defend and advance civic freedoms. Since its inception in 2022, the initiative has supported over 200  organisations via its 4  strategic pillars together with; 

• Digital Security and Protection  
• Civic Space Protection and Regulatory Compliance  
• Leadership and Organisational Governance  
• Resource Mobilisation and Financial Resilience  

Programme Details

Successful organisations will take part in a structured capacity-strengthening and teaching programme over the interval, which incorporates: 

•  A 3-days coaching facilitated season professionals  
• Personalised one-on-one teaching and mentoring. 
• Advisory help and sensible steerage to strengthen your organisation’s work. 
• Handholding all through the method, particularly throughout motion planning. 
• Peer studying Opportunities with different collaborating organisations. 
• Tailored mentoring classes primarily based in your organisation’s particular wants. 
• Connections with earlier CSR-Hub cohorts for shared studying and collaboration. 
• Space to contribute to regional discussions on shrinking civic house and methods to counter restrictions. 
• Access to the CSR-Hub regional studying and advocacy platform. 

This name is open to: 

• Legally registered civil society organisations working in Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal. 
• Civil society organisations together with non-governmental organisations, community-based (grassroots) organisations, faith-based organisations, with precedence consideration for girls or youth led organisations.  
• Organisations should have been lively for not less than two (2) years and show a transparent dedication to social justice, human rights, open civic house, advocacy and so on. 
• Grassroots and rising organisations with restricted entry to institutional help are strongly inspired to apply. 
• Have not less than 5 (5) full-time employees or a constant volunteer construction. 
• Be prepared to decide to lively participation in all coaching and mentorship classes all through the cohort interval. 
• Be prepared to share related organizational paperwork for compliance assessment (e.g. registration certificates, structure, board listing, coverage manuals).
