Applications at the moment are open for the 2026 YALI (RLC)East Africa/University of Iowa Africa Startup Accelerator. The Regional Leadership Center East Africa, in partnership with the University of Iowa, proudly invites functions for the inaugural Africa Startup Accelerator (ASA) 2026. The Africa Startup Accelerator (ASA) is a transformative 3-week entrepreneurship and management expertise hosted by the University of Iowa’s Institute for International Business (IIB) in Iowa City, USA, from 30 June – 25 July 2026.

For practically a decade, the University of Iowa hosted the celebrated Mandela Washington Fellowship, and ASA builds on that legacy by providing a streamlined, founder-focused atmosphere designed to spice up entrepreneurial trajectories, refine enterprise fashions, and sharpen management abilities for long-term success.

Program Highlights

• Immersive Curriculum: Using the Lean LaunchPad methodology, contributors will take a look at daring concepts, refine methods, and unlock new progress pathways.
• Expert Mentorship: One-on-one teaching with prime entrepreneurship specialists from Eastern Iowa’s distinctive startup ecosystem.
• Leadership Development: Sessions to strengthen confidence, inclusive management, and investor readiness.
• Pitch Opportunities: Weekly pitch periods to friends, mentors, and buyers, making a steady suggestions loop.
• Cultural Exchange: Room and board on the University of Iowa campus, plus cultural visits, networking occasions, and celebrations.

  Eligibility Requirements

• Regional Leadership Center, EA alumni
• Founders of energetic, revolutionary startups with clear progress potential and neighborhood impression.
• Age: 25–35 years.
• Hold a 4-year college diploma.
• Proficient in English (written & spoken).
• Valid passport for journey to the USA.
• Disability just isn’t a barrier — range throughout nations, sectors, gender, and backgrounds will probably be prioritized.
