Applications at the moment are open for the UNESCO SDG4 Youth & Student Network. The SDG4 Youth & Student Network, managed by UNESCO, is trying for the subsequent cohort of young education leaders for 2026-2027. 

The SDG4 Youth & Student Network is a worldwide group of young leaders and consultants devoted to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) – Quality Education. Managed by UNESCO, this Network empowers youth and college students to contribute to instructional coverage, advocacy, and innovation. Members interact in numerous actions, together with workshops, conferences, and collaborative tasks, to advertise inclusive and equitable high quality education for all.

Program Details

  • Members take part within the Network of their private capability and serve for a interval of two years: from January 2026 to December 2027.
  • New members may also take part in inception actions along with present members between October and December 2025.

Requirements

To be part of the SDG4 Youth & Student Network you might want to meet the next standards:

  • Between the ages of 16 and 30.
  • Be an lively member of a nationwide, regional and/or international non-governmental and not-for-profit group of youth and college students working in a subject associated to SDG4 – Education 2030.
  • Be lively within the fields associated to SDG4 – Education 2030.
  • Have no battle of curiosity as per the Network Code of Conduct (e.g. maintain authorities positions or employment in for-profit organizations and firms which will generate a battle of curiosity).

Membership is free and unremunerated. Joining the Network doesn’t create any work relation with UNESCO nor any proper to make use of UNESCO’s title and emblem.

Selection Process

The 2026-2027 cohort shall be composed of 60 to 100 members. The choice shall be carried out as follows:

  • May-July 2025: Call for functions
  • July-August 2025: Analysis of functions by a Selection Committee composed of UNESCO personnel and volunteer SDG4 Youth & Student Network Executive Committee members. At least one other UN group or workplace with a mandate on Youth will take part as observer to make sure transparency and equity.
  • September 2025: Notification of choice

In analyzing the functions, the Selection Committee can pay specific consideration to the next elements:

  • Strong curiosity and experience in education and sustainable growth, at grassroots degree.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Active involvement in candidates’ communities or instructional establishments.
  • Commitment to collaborating within the community for a two-year interval (2026-2027).
  • Diversity, inclusion, geographical and gender steadiness.
